Sorry for taking a couple of days to get to this but we have some sad news to report. On April 5th Jim Marshall OBE died at a hospice in Milton Keynes, Buckinghanshire, England, at the age of 88. Best known as the man who started Marshall Amps, he revolutionized guitar amplification, putting a British twist on the Fender Bassman amp circuit and creating the Bluesbreaker, which led to the first amp stacks. Along the way his amps have become must have peices of equipment for artists in harder rock and metal as well as become an iconic piece of live concert backline that most music fans instantly recognize. From his start as a jazz drummer to his later status of being dubbed by some as the "Father of Loud," he changed how music is performed forever.
Our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
